I love chocolate, so I love this tour. It is short, so you need not plan a long time. It is important to note that the chocolate factory is not always making chocolate. You can still visit, as the gift shop and cactus gardens have longer hours that match with the tour hours. If the machines are not running, there is still a video presentation you can watch and you can look in and see all the machines, but it is far more interesting to see people on the floor of the factory and watch everything in first hand action. Call ahead to see if they are making chocolates.

Back 35 years ago, you used to be able to choose one of any of the chocolates as a sample, but now they only have a small piece of solid dark, milk, or white chocolate at the end. If you want to taste more, you'll have to buy something from the gift shop. There is also a cafe with chocolate treats, including ice cream, which is good on hot summer days.

They have recently added 30-45 minute chocolate tasting classes that have a bit of education on chocolate itself and the opportunity to try a variety of chocolate. They can be scheduled or walk-in on availability. I believe it is $15/adult and $5/child.

The cactus garden is an underrated visit. It has an extensive collection of cactus, and if you go during the day, you can often interact with the gardeners. Remember that Las Vegas is hot, so during the summer, this is less enjoyable due to the heat. At Christmas time, it is open after dark and covered in Christmas lights.
