I took my boys (ages 7 & 9) when we were down with my husband for work. We spent several hours just walking around looking at the different trees and bushes, walking the many paths through the woods, looking at insect species samples, visiting the birds and animals in the sanctuary and looking at the fish in the stream. It was a self-guided experience (although I think they do give guided tours). The boys loved the touch tank, and the nature video that they have was very informative, although may be a little long for younger kids. I think we went off season, but still a nice visit and well worth the stop.
